Day Triumphs at Trophy Cup, Becomes Youngest Champion in History

At the 29th annual Abreu Vineyard Trophy Cup, Corey Day, only 17 years old, showcased his exceptional racing talent by winning the championship at Thunderbowl Raceway.

Starting from the 20th position on the grid, Day impressively worked his way up the field. Although Logan Seavey initially took the checkered flag, he was disqualified for a technical infringement, resulting in Day being awarded the victory and the championship, along with a $29,000 prize.

This win was particularly notable as Day began the evening as the high point driver, poised to break the record for the youngest champion, a title previously held by Michael Kofoid. Corey’s victory also holds familial significance, as his father, Ronnie Day, was the champion of the first Trophy Cup in 1994, making the Days and the Kaedings the only father-son duos to have won the Trophy Cup.
