Corey Day picked a huge stage for his first career O’Reilly Auto Parts Series win, taking the checkered flag at Talladega Superspeedway in the Ag-Pro 300. The twenty-year-old Hendrick Motorsports driver led only the final lap, but he was in the right place when it mattered most.
For Day, the victory was a major step forward in his first full-time NASCAR season. Coming from a sprint car background, he admitted he never expected his first win to come at a superspeedway, but Talladega delivered a career-changing moment.
