At the 69th Curb Records Gold Cup Race of Champions at Silver Dollar Speedway, 17-year-old Corey Day achieved a landmark victory in the World of Outlaws NOS Energy Drink Sprint Car series. Starting from the pole position, Day led every lap of the 40-lap event, securing his first series win and a $25,000 prize.

His triumph was marked by emotional significance, as it represented a fulfillment of his long-held aspirations. Day’s win, his 19th start in the series, made him the seventh driver to earn their first series victory at Silver Dollar Speedway. Justin Sanders and Michael Kofoid, also from California, completed the podium, achieving a sweep for California natives every night of this year’s Gold Cup.
